I may have mentioned that I am a TV junkie. Perhaps, because you are reading this page, you too love the pleasures of the boob tube. I do quite enjoy live shows, though, of late have not really hit a live performance due to cold weather, laziness, whatever excuse might be handy for being such a slug...though I'm hoping to catch Puppetry of the Penis when it premieres in Chicago in two weeks...outside of that show, which I'm sure sounds just delightful, you should, if you're visiting, definitely catch Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre. Great fun. The last two live performances I've caught here have been Miss Saigon and Rent. I know, not too extensive. Like I said, I am a TV junkie. Emabarassing, but true.

And now, onto the goods you're here for:
Flamey, fun Christopher reminds us how to decorate cheaply. Love it, darling.
Better than E's fashion emergency. Who doesn't like a fun before and after show?
Who doesn't love a good wedding? I loved, loved, loved this show, despite its very cheesy overtones and even worse theme song.
I love house shopping, I enjoy the idea of southern California. This show combines both. I do wish Suzanne would do something about her hair...
Anna and Linda (designers from Changing Rooms) alternate as hosts on this show, which makes over 3 rooms in people's homes with the bits and bobs they already have in their home. Fun! Resourceful! Cheap!
Nothing wrong with Trading Spaces. Love to watch this to trash Hilda (what is up with her and Ty? Yech!). She's a loon. Kia and Edward haven't done any convincing stuff either....
I was smitten with this show the first time I saw it, way before Trading Spaces bloomed into the phenomenon it is.
I wasn't into this or any of the other Bachelor shows until I caught this a couple weeks back, when Trista had to cut from 8 guys down to 4. Can't believe the guys she has left. About as plastic as she is, for the most part (but the fireman guy, he's such a flipping sap!!). Ick on all fronts. Merely watching for cringe factor on this one.
I was hooked in from the start of this so-bad-it's-good journey into deception and devilry of the money-grubbing vixen sort. I can't believe that crazy Sarah girl is still left in the last 2 contenders. She is SO after the $$. Even worse, can you believe Alex McLeod left Trading Spaces to do this?
I tried to resist and didn't watch this at all when it first began airing. Then there was a marathon on MTV. Caught an episode; it was so juicy that I was instantly hooked. This show is debauchery!
all your favorite characters tossed together! what else is more riveting?

reality tv
Truly a guilty indulgence I've really fallen into this year. I have always loved the Real World and Road Rules sagas, but since they're running rampant this year (and it's so cold outside all I do is watch TV these days), I've gotten sucked into a few more:
home decor tv
My true passion in TV before reality TV took a grip on me. Because I am always doing stuff to the old house, I love these kinds of shows for ideas and inspiration. I know, another excuse for loads of TV. It can't be helped. And it
is
true!
I love this show! They make over 1 room for $500 or less, visit a great antiques shop where they recycle old bits and bobs into new goodies for the home, and then tour homes decored on a budget or rearrange poorly set up rooms. Love it.
daytime tv
I was unemployed for about 3 months when BlueMeteor closed shop. That was when I discovered Daytime TV on TLC and Discovery channel. While thinking of what to do for work next, I thought I'd want to open a tea shop that featured afternoon TV just so I could keep watching these.
I always fancied myself a matchmake (though I haven't caused a marriage to ensue yet), so this was a great show to vicariously watch.
I've only just found this show last week, when I was home sick with a stiff neck. This show is about 2 teams (1 of family, 1 of friends) trying to round up suitable dates for the bachelor(ette) in their life. The first show I caught was taped here in Chicago. The girl didn't like the cutie both her friends and her family wanted to pick to date her. Tall Kurt, if you're still out there, I would like to introduce you my little sister!!
other tv
Occasionally, I do venture out of DIY and reality TV land for regular old TV.
